Reaching far into the large fish reservoir of the pacific ocean, the Azuero Peninsula is an attractive site for some great deep-see-fishing! This section of the Peninsula of Azuero has been named ¨the tuna coast¨ for its abundance of yellow fin tuna and other assorted types of game fish such as Dorado, Red Snapper, Wahoo and others. The fishing location is close to the maritime corridor where the continental shelf drop is at only a few miles offshore from Venao Cove beachfront accommodations.
Los Frailes Rocks are two large rock islands that can be seen from the accommodations. There is a crack at the bottom of the ocean that connects these rocks to the maritime corridor meaning large fish enter the area to eat. You can see the evidence in the spearfishing clip following to this paragraph. Furthermore, there are areas such as Isla Cañas river and Oria river where world records for Snook fishing has been broken. The area is a true fishermen paradise.
It only takes 20 min to get there. A fishing or spearfishing trip with one of the local fishermen can easily be arranged!
